Last week the board of directors for Abilities Manitoba met at Pulford’s Winnipeg office to discuss Better Outcomes, Better Access and Better Inclusion in the province.
The meeting generated good conversation in an effort to focus and review the issues that affect services in Manitoba for people with developmental disabilities. The meeting was attended by Executive Director of Abilities Manitoba, Margo Powell, President, Ruby Reimer, Vice-President, Audra Penner, Treasurer, Malinda Roberts, past President, Jennifer Hagedorn and Directors, Scott Smith, Charmayne Dube and Jason Dyck.
The members were also joined by Sid Rogers, Bob Jones and Dale Kendel who have worked tirelessly and volunteered their time with Community Living Manitoba in making a positive impact on many people and their families. The board asked for their input on many issues and were very appreciative of the trio passing along their wisdom and experience.
Pulford Community Living Services is proud to host such an important meeting that was all about making the world a more inclusive place for people with developmental disabilities. To have the board members here laying out plans to improve the lives of people and their families, while also working to advocate for improved services makes us all want to work harder to help accomplish those goals.
A unified force can advocate louder and bring about change faster and create the future we all want, today.
