We kicked off another exciting summer with a series of three vibrant picnics held across Manitoba, bringing together communities for fun, connection, and celebration. Our events took place in Winnipeg on July 10, followed by Lundar on July 16, and Ste. Anne on July 17. Interestingly, this year’s heatwave hit during our Winnipeg picnic, making it the hottest of the three. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who braved the intense summer sun to join us—it was truly appreciated.
Each picnic saw a noticeable increase in attendance, and the energy and enthusiasm from everyone made all the planning and effort worthwhile. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, families enjoying the day, and people of all ages engaging in the activities we had lined up. This year, we introduced a variety of new and exciting stations that added to the festive atmosphere. Highlights included a reptile petting zoo that fascinated both kids and adults, a realistic tattoo booth, rock painting for the creative minds, and giant games that brought out everyone’s playful side. We also had a magician who kept the crowd entertained with awe-inspiring tricks, and of course, water guns to help everyone cool off and have a splash of fun.
These picnics have become a cherished summer tradition, and seeing the joy they bring to our communities reminds us why we do it. We’re already looking forward to what next summer will bring!
